Hideo Kojima Confirms Metal Gear Solid 5 is in Development
Hideo Kojima, one of the best known game developers in the world, has confirmed the existence of Metal Gear Solid 5. The new game will use the Fox Engine and focus on infiltration, but not much else is known at this point. Kojima did not even say how involved he will be on MGS5 nor how far along in development the game is, so it is anyone's guess as to when we can experience it. The developer did say he is not yet done with Solid Snake despite wanting to kill him off at the end of Guns of the Patriots, but did not elaborate further. Last year Kojima revealed some ideas for MGS5, including setting the game during the Invasion of Normandy and focusing on The Boss and the Cobra Unit. He presented those ideas to the design team in the summer of 2008 once MGS4 was finished, but there was some resistance from the younger staff if Kojima was not going to be involved in development. Hopefully Kojima can reveal more about Metal Gear Solid 5 soon and maybe even Project Ogre.
