One of the things PC gamers hate most is when they're treated like red-headed step children, suffering with a poor console port. Developer Treyarch is doing its best to not let that happen with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Dedicated servers for the PC version was one of the first things confirmed when the game was announced, which was certainly welcomed news after their inexcusable absence in Modern Warfare 2 (it should be noted that MW2 was developed by Infinity Ward, not Treyarch). But that's not the only special treatment PC gamers will receive. Treyarch's lead PC developer, Cesar Stastny, confirmed that there will be adjustable FOV and lean in multi-player, both exclusive to the PC. As of now, adjustable FOV is not in SP mode, as it apparently "breaks a lot of stuff in SP," but Treyarch is still evaluating it. That is most likely due to the abundance of scripted events the franchise is known for, but that excuse seems rather thin. Black Ops 2 will also support both DirectX 10 and DirectX 11, as well as feature extra graphics options on the PC. Lastly, he stated that the Black Ops 2 engine has "significant performance improvement for PC" over its predecessor. Overall, it seems Treyarch is definitely taking the PC version seriously. Even if you're not a fan of the franchise, it's good news for the industry.
