When you sit down and play CD Projekt RED's The Witcher games, you may be a little loss as to what is going on. Based on the series of Polish fantasy short stories (collected mostly in two novels) of the same name, the world of Geralt of Rivia is unlike most other fantasy worlds. Sure, there elves, dwarves, men, monsters, and magic, but The Witcher is a much more mature and dark fantasy world than most people are use to. The Witcher video games capture that world perfectly, but some people may shy away regardless. CD Projekt's next video game is based on another world, but the developer will make the story of Cyberpunk more accessible than that of The Witcher.

CD Projekt is working to establish a smoother learning curve for Cyberpunk rather than throwing you to the wolves right away. The Witcher 1 began practically in the middle of a story, but with Cyberpunk CD Projekt will take a similar approach to the Game of Thrones TV series; leaving out unnecessary parts but keeping more than enough to engage the audience. The developer still wants a profound story for Cyberpunk, but is aiming for a much better job at informing new players.

Definitely welcomed news. I'm intrigued by the unique ultra-modern setting, so anything to make it more accessible is a good thing. The first few hours of The Witcher was rather bad.
