PAYDAY: The Heist - No Mercy DLC is a Left 4 Dead Prequel

After several weeks of teasing and denying rumors, it looks like we finally know what the collaboration between Overkill Software and Valve is all about. The upcoming PAYDAY: The Heist - No Mercy DLC is a Left 4 Dead prequel, however the trailer showcasing it has since been pulled. Still, with a video description of "Have you ever wondered how the Left 4 Dead series began? It all started with a heist!" it is pretty easy to put two and two together. The trailer did show the same Mercy Hospital from Left 4 Dead being robbed by the PAYDAY gang, but they were not looking for money or painkillers. The robbers were instead trying to "ID the right patient" while the hospital is under emergency quarantine. The trailer had SWAT teams with riot shields and hospital workers, but no zombies appeared.

Hopefully Valve or Overkill will finally confirm this project and put the trailer back up. The video was originally on PAYDAY: The Heist's YouTube channel, so perhaps the upload was just a little premature.
