Diablo 3 players in the Americas region can now use the game's real money auction house, courtesy of the recently deployed Blizzard patch. All items can fetch for a maximum bid and buyout of $250, with Blizzard taking a $1 cut for every confirmed transaction. To conduct auctions a Battle.net authenticator is required to use Battle.net balance, although PayPal and credit cards can also be used. Commodities such as gems and gold take a 15% deduction, with gold needing a minimum of 100,000 in order to sell. Blizzard will also be releasing the real money auction house feature to other regions at an unspecified future date. "We’ll have more information on the availability of the European real-money auction house and the remaining Americas currencies soon."
