Need for Speed will be returning to one of its most popular games when Most Wanted releases later this year. This version is a new take on the classic by incorporating an open world multiplayer system that lets you race with your friends without needing to jump through menus. Criterion Games is behind the wheel for Need for Speed: Most Wanted, so you know there will be a good level of destruction present in this version. EA has revealed the system specifications for Most Wanted and you may need to plan a few upgrades if you are going to get the PC version. For starters, Windows XP users need not apply as Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a DirectX 10 and higher game. A video card with at least 512MB of RAM is required, as is a dual-core processor at 2GHz or higher, 2GB of RAM, and 20GB of hard drive space.

Minimum System Requirement:

OS: Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) 32-Bit
Processor: 2GHz Dual Core (Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz or Althon X2 2.7GHz)
Memory: 2GB
Hard Drive: 20 GB
Graphics Card (AMD): DirectX 10.1 compatible with 512 MB RAM (ATI RADEON 3000, 4000, 5000 OR 6000 series, with ATI RADEON 3870 or higher performance)
Graphics Card (NVIDIA): DirectX 10.0 compatible with 512 MB RAM (NVIDIA GEFORCE 8, 9, 200, 300, 400 OR 500 series with NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 GT or higher performance)
Sound card: DirectX compatible
Keyboard and Mouse

Recommended System Requirement:

OS: Windows 7 64-Bit
Processor: Quad-Core CPU
Memory: 4GB
Hard Drive: 20GB
Graphics Card: DirectX 11 compatible with 1024 MB RAM (NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 560 or ATI RADEON 6950)
Sound Card: DirectX compatible
Keyboard and Mouse

All told, these settings are not the craziest but like I said some people may need an upgrade. The 20GB of hard drive space may put off some, but certain games are taking up more and more space. Need for Speed: Most Wanted will be available October 30th for the PC, PS3, and 360.
