Overkill Software and Valve Working on Left 4 Dead Prequel?

At the end of May, Overkill Software announced it was working with Valve on a new project. It was said to be a "very cool blend" of PAYDAY: The Heist and Left 4 Dead, but now it is looking like it will be a Left 4 Dead prequel. This should tell the tale of just how the zombie outbreak began, but currently neither Overkill or Valve have confirmed this report. It would certainly be a unique game to see how the infection spread and just what elements from both series are incorporated. When the collaboration was announced, there was really no telling just what would come of it. Overkill said it was an "in-depth" effort between the two studios, and if it actually is a L4D prequel, you can be sure it will be popular. We just need to wait and see for a confirmation on this.
