The 2012 E3 announcements continue to roll in, this time coming from German publisher TopWare Interactive. Developer Reality Pump, famous for the Earth and Two Worlds franchises, is developing a brand new IP called Sacrilegium. Sacrilegium is a survival horror game featuring a 20-year old female protagonist, Alex. Alex will travel "from the foggy banks of San Francisco to the remotest corners of Europe" as she faces off against the vampiric Moroi. The game is being developed on the new GRACE 2 engine, a follow-up to the highly acclaimed GRACE engine used in Two Worlds 2.
The official website touts a lot of great features, from "a dark, thrilling tale with captivating atmosphere, full of twists and turns, surprises and rewards" to "breathtaking graphics" and "ultra-realistic motion-capture" to "unparalleled animations" – but whether it'll live up to all that is yet to be seen, as there is sadly no gameplay or even cinematic video available. The survival horror genre has been severely lacking over the past few years, with established franchises like Resident Evil moving closer and closer to the pure action genre. Hopefully, Sacrilegium can capture the heart-pounding tension that make survival horror games so enthralling.
