Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Striking August 21 with $15 Price Tag

Earlier in the year, we posted that the newest game in the Counter-Strike series, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), would be launching this summer. Today came word of an official launch date — August 21, 2012. CS:GO will be available for download on that date for all three platforms (Steam, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade). But aside from the date, the best news is probably that of the price — a mere $15. Indie-pricing for an established franchise is certainly a nice surprise and hopefully that means a higher adoption rate — something very important for a multi-player game.

Great price for a XBLA Arcade-esque game like BF 1943.

Yeah, I think it was very smart of them to price it according to PSN/XBLA expectations and not try to milk a little more out of people.
