Gearbox Software has delivered some good news today when it announced some special editions for Borderlands 2. The two editions both offer a variety of extra goodies for your hard earned cash, but you just have to decide which one to get. The Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collector's Edition will set you back $100 come September 18th, but it includes a Marcus Kincaid bobblehead and a hardbound Inside the Vault: The Art & Design of Borderlands 2 book. There is also a sticker pack, a map of Pandora, a digital comic download code, and downloadable content for the game. The Ultimate Loot Chest Edition clocks in at $150, which includes all the content from the $100 edition plus a lot more. You will find a scale replica of a loot chest, a steelbook game case, a "Creatures of Pandora wide format ID chart," a lithograph postcard set, a cloth map of Pandora, field notes from Sir Hammerlock, and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
All told, either special edition will net you a ton of extra content, although the exact type of downloadable content is unknown right now. Regardless of the edition you get for Borderlands 2, all pre-orders include access to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, which contains the Gearbox Gun Pack, Vault Hunter's Relic, the Golden Key, and the Mechromancer - the fifth class for the game that will arrive after launch. Borderlands 2 arrives on September 18th for the PC, PS3, and 360, while European gamers will get it a few days later.
