Silence on Half-Life Series due to Development 'Twists and Turns'Category: Gaming

I know what you are thinking because we are all thinking it. Half-Life 2 released in 2004, with Episode One arriving in 2006 and Episode Two in 2007, yet Episode Three is no where to be found. Nor is Half-Life 3 and gamers have been hoping for just a little ray of information concerning either missing game. Fortunately, Valve co-founder Gabe Newell may have dropped a hint about the Half-Life series' hiatus in a recent interview. Newell was asked about the status of Ricochet 2 (prompting some laughter), which is a sequel few want but is believed to be the code-name for Half-Life 3, and basically said the reason nothing has been mentioned yet is because the development team likes to change their minds. Valve does not want to reveal too much because of "twists and turns" in the development, where something the team is working on could be completely different in a newer build. Newell does not want the fans to be disappointed, so he and Valve will not reveal anything until the vision is set. Whether this refers to Half-Life 2: Episode Three or Half-Life 3 will remain a mystery for a while longer.
