Think your PC has what it takes to play May Payne 3's bullet-time graphics smoothly? Rockstar Games has just announced the hardware you need to play the action-noir sequel at acceptable frame-rates, or (with the right gear) go all-out by turning up the graphics options to maximum levels. Rockstar assures us the PC version isn't just a mere port by pointing out the advanced graphics support for DirectX 11 such as tessellation, but one look at the game's hard disk footprint might make a few gamers groan: a whopping 35GB. North American Max Payne fans can grab the PC version on May 29, with a European release to follow on June 1. Check out the latest PC screenshots to see whether Max Payne 3 for the PC fares graphically better than its console counterparts.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows XP 32/64 SP 3
  • Processor: Intel Dual Core 2.4 GHZ / AMD Dual Core 2.6 GHZ

  • 100% Direct X 9.0 compatible soundcard
  • HDD Space: 35 GB

Want all the graphical bells and whistles maxed out? Here's what Rockstar recommends:

Wow, those recommended specs seem rather steep by todays standards.

Steep? Those specs are recommended for running at max settings.....The min specs are pretty low. core 2duo with an 8600 GT? That's pretty ancient at this point. Anyways....who doesn't have at least one gtx 680 by now? :P

i doubt you'll need that much to max it out but if you do, then thats a good reason to upgrade
