During PAX East this past weekend, BioWare reiterated that work was indeed finished on Dragon Age II and the team is moving on to the next game. While Dragon Age III is not officially announced, BioWare did drop some pretty heavy hints about the third game. Creative director Mike Laidlaw said the Dragon Age team took polls from within the DA community to see just what fans wanted from a third game. Topping the list was a greater variety of environments (to be expected after DA2), with better equipment and more options for followers coming in next. Dragon Age: Origins let you equip whatever armor you wanted on your companions, but DA2 essentially gave them one or two sets with upgrade slots. Not exactly a step forward, so the fans let BioWare know. As the studio said last month, it wants fans actively engaged in the design aspects of Dragon Age III, so hopefully this means the third title will be more like the first (maybe even with a bit of Skyrim added).
