As part of the recently announced StarCraft 2 World Championship Series, the Electronic Sports League has announced that it will be hosting 12 events that will help determine who gets to fight for the cash and the glory. The ESL has plenty of experience in running tournaments, as it helps to put on the Intel Extreme Masters competitions each year. As part of the partnership, the ESL will host 11 National Championship events as well as the South America Finals. The tournaments will be broadcast on ESL TV throughout the spring and summer. The countries that will have the National Champion crowned at an ESL event include Brazil, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
