The Assassin's Creed franchise has become one of Ubisoft's best sellers, and after leaving the Middle East and Europe behind will finally be set in America. Well, it will be set in what will become America, since Assassin's Creed III takes place during the American Revolution. However, that does not mean the series' creators are not looking ahead to future games and new locations, which could be in another colonial setting. Creative director Alex Hutchinson said the team would love to bring Assassin's Creed to Colonial India, but did not commit to that area for a future title. India would certainly make for an interesting experience, complete with elephants, tigers, monkeys, and British troops. Hutchinson also spoke of locations where Assassin's Creed most likely will not be set, like World War II, feudal Japan, and Egypt, saying those three just would not be possible.

Assassin's Creed III arrives on October 30th for the PC, PS3, 360, and Wii U once that system launches.

I am glad there will not be a WW2 location. I am glad there is an "integration" of historic periods, but I don't think anyone needs another WW2 game, even if you could free-run across tanks and dive into a bale of hay from a bomber overhead.
