Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson may not be working on his multi-million dollar baby any longer, but that does not mean the man is sitting around counting his coins. When Notch announced he was stepping down from work on Minecraft, it was so he could recharge his batteries to work on the next project. He is working on the roguelike MiniTale and has even talked about Psychonauts 2, but Notch is interested in creating a sandbox space trading game that is a cross between Elite and Firefly. Notch likes the idea of a classic trading sim, but rather than be the spaceship you will be a character on the spaceship, hence the Firefly bit. He wants to be able to run around the ship, put out fires if the cooling system fails, and overall make a sandbox game similar to Minecraft. Notch even plans to create it in a similar way to Minecraft (meaning he works on it at first and then brings in others), but has not committed to actually creating it. He said he would not mind if someone else makes it before him, just that he would "want to play that game."
