NVIDIA has announced that it has released its first GPU driver for the Windows 8 OS, and that it plans to continue regular releases. The driver is available for GeForce and Quadro GPUs, and carries the 296.17 version number. For those users still on Windows 7 or XP, driver version 296.10 has also been released. All NVIDIA Windows 8 drivers will support the Windows Display Driver Model v1.2, and will also have support for NVIDIA 3D technologies.
