Kickstarter Page for Wasteland 2 Now Active
A little while back, inXile founder and Fallout developer Brian Fargo mentioned he wanted to make a sequel to Wasteland, the first post-apocalyptic RPG and predecessor to Fallout. Fargo saw the success Tim Schafer was having with his Kickstarter project, and wanted to see if the fans could help out for a new Wasteland. Fargo's idea is to remain as true as possible to the original Wasteland, meaning an isometric adventure, with none of the restraints of a publisher. Now, the Kickstarter page for Wasteland 2 is live and you can help reach the $900,000 goal. Much of the original team is back at work on Wasteland 2, even composer Mark Morgan, and there will be various rewards at different pledge levels.
A pledge of $15 nets you a digital, DRM-free copy of the game, $30 gets you the game and soundtrack, and higher tiers provide even more. You can get your name in the credits, appear in the game, extra copies, and even an in-game statue of your likeness. Head on over to the Kickstarter page to donate and help with the return of a classic RPG. There are 34 more days to go and although the amount right now is nearly $450,000, anything over that goal will allow for more to be added to Wasteland 2.
