Valve Responds to Steam Box Rumors

Rumors of a Steam Box game console to be made by Valve surfaced last week, and Valve has now issued a response to the rumors. Marketing Director Doug Lombardi attempted to dispel the rumors by saying that any test hardware being made is to test the Big Picture Mode UI. The Big Picture Mode UI is being designed to make Steam easily compatible with systems that are connected to a television. In addition to working on the new UI, Valve has also been experimenting with biometric feedback on the test systems. However, Doug didn't say that there is no possibility of a console in the future, so there is still a chance that a Steam Box could find its way into your home at some point.
