AMD is filling out its HD 7000-series lineup with the the release of two new cards - the HD 7870 and HD 7850. Intended to fill in the gaps in the lineup for mainstream performance cards, the 7800-series of cards released today fall in the $249 (HD 7850) and $349 (HD 7870) price range. Both cards have GPUs manufactured on the 28nm process and feature AMD's Graphics Core Next (GCN) technology. The HD 7870 features a 1,000MHz core clock, 1,280 Stream processors and 2GB of GDDR5 frame buffer memory. The HD 7850 has 1,024 stream processors, an 860 MHz core clock and 2GB GDDR5 memory.
