AMD has two announcements concerning the FX line of processors. First up is two new processors, the FX-4170 and FX-6200. The FX-4170 has four cores operating at 4.2GHz, while the FX-6200 will have six cores running at 3.8GHz. Both processors are based on the Bulldozer architecture and, like all FX processors, have an unlocked multiplier. The unlocked multiplier should provide for better overclocking over similar chips that have a locked multiplier. The second announcement is that the FX-8120 will receive a price drop, though the new price wasn't specified.

Wow... 4.2 GHz stock. Awesome. They are really pushing these chips to keep them competitive.

I saw elsewhere that the price drop was to $185 USD, which makes a very valid arguement for an 8120 now IMHO.
