While Crytek has moved on to bigger things than Far Cry, Ubisoft Montreal is continuing to keep that flame alive. Far Cry 2 released a while back, and although it had a great game engine, certain elements of the game were not that popular. Far Cry 3 has been teased before and all things pointed to a return to the tropics, just like the original game. Today, a new trailer for Far Cry 3 has gone live, and the good news is we do get to return to the tropics. The trailer starts off nice enough, with what looks to be a relaxing vacation on an island paradise, until it all goes wrong so fast. The island, oddly enough, looks almost identical to the one in the first Far Cry. Hopefully there will be fewer mutant gorillas this time around, and that Far Cry 3 can live up to the name. The entire trailer is CG, and there is a decent amount of language, so it is not safe for work.
Far Cry 3 will launch on September 7th for the PC, PS3, and 360.
