The Resident Evil games were one of the forerunners to survival horror video games. The franchise has grown from those early roots to cater to a wider audience, and when Resident Evil 6 lands later this year, one of the former staples of the series will be gone. Resident Evil 6 will be the first in the series to let you move and shoot at the same time, which should hopefully mean any awkward controls are long gone. Players will also be able to slide, roll, and take cover with their in-game characters, and there is even an "enhanced melee attack." Capcom also revealed a little about a new enemy in RE6, the J'avo. This is a more intelligent enemy that can understand speech, use weapons, and work in a group, but is still prone to some animal instincts. It should prove an interesting challenge for gamers, but the new controls will be able to help you overcome it.
Resident Evil 6 launches November 20th for the PS3 and 360, with a PC version following later.
