Recently, some teaser images surfaced that looked to reveal the next Resident Evil game. Today, that has been confirmed by Capcom as Resident Evil 6 is official. RE6 takes place ten years after the events in the original game, and features Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield as the main characters. The U.S. President wants to clarify what happened in Raccoon City in order to stop the bioterrorists, and invites Leon to be by his side at the conference. Before the announcement can be made, a bioterrorist attack occurs at the venue, and Leon sees the President "transformed beyond recognition." Meanwhile, Chris Redfield is in China, which is also under threat of a bioterrorist attack. You can view the trailer below to get a good idea of what Capcom intends Resident Evil 6 to look like (along with some new characters), and I have to say, it looks pretty good. The game will have both a single player and co-op mode, so you can join up with a friend to put a stop to the threat.
Resident Evil 6 launches on November 20th for the PS3 and 360. A PC version will follow at a later date.
