Guru3D has found some interesting information regarding the DRM from Ubisoft while reviewing Anno 2070. The site wanted to do a video performance review, and planned to install the game on three different computers, the activation limit for the product. What they didn't know was that by simply changing the video card in one of their systems, they would need a different activation. The Ubisoft DRM counts a video card change as a completely different computer, using another of the three activations. The site contacted Ubisoft in an attempt to get the activation limit reset, but had no luck. As of today, they were contacted by the developers with a key so that the review could continue. Anytime I hear stories like this, it is clear to me that the DRM policy of Ubisoft is far from the best and appears to punish gamers who buy games legitimately.
