Over the weekend, a rumor started going around that THQ had canceled its product lineup for 2014 and was on the verge of selling everything to another studio. Late last night, THQ clarified the rumors by saying it has not canceled any projects for 2014 and no decisions have been made for the MMO. THQ is committed to its core games and will reduce the amount of kids games in its portfolio. The lack of so many kids titles means a smaller release schedule for THQ, but that does not mean future projects are canceled. In fact, THQ says it was the number five publisher overall and number 4 third-party for December 2011, according to NPD's numbers. Saints Row: The Third has had nearly triple the amount of sales that Saints Row 2 had, and WWE '12 has seen 40% higher sales worldwide than last year's version while shipping on fewer platforms. All of this looks like good news for THQ, and goes to show that every rumor does not always pan out.
