Recently posted on the Official Microsoft Blog is the company’s decision to make their 2012 CES keynote their last. Though it will still have a presence at future shows, it will be smaller.
The blog post cites the timing of CES as one of the reasons behind this decision. With twelve months in a year, Microsoft apparently no longer feels it is best to keep announcements to the beginning of January. It also believes its presence in other areas, such as social media and Microsoft retail stores, is strong enough to make announcements there, and at smaller venues than CES.
