Sapphire today launched its latest motherboard, dubbed the Pure Black 990FX. The new full ATX motherboard, as the name suggests, uses the AMD 990FX chipset coupled with the SB950 southbridge. The Pure Black 990FX contains four DDR3 memory slots along with six PCIe x16 slots to accommodate multi-GPU configurations. Other connectors include nine SATA ports (six SATA 6.0 Gbps and three SATA 3.0 Gbps), one eSATA connector and one MOLEX connector. Connectivity is covered by dual Gigabit ethernet, two back panel USB ports (and two more using a header), Bluetooth support, dual BIOS and 7.1 channel audio. The Pure Black 990FX motherboard also features diamond black chokes and is compatible with both AM3 and AM3+ CPUs. The Sapphire Pure Black 990FX is available now for around US$211 (€159.90).
