There had been rumblings of late that a new Command & Conquer game was on the way, with EA gathering a mess of possible names. It was rumored that BioWare, the studio famous for its RPGs, would be running the show, which would be a massive step outside the comfort zone if true. Well, at the VGAs this weekend, EA went ahead and announced Command & Conquer: Generals 2 and that BioWare Victory would be developing it. The game will be built using the Frostbite 2 engine, the same powering Battlefield 3, so C&C:G2 should be a gorgeous looking RTS. BioWare Victory is the newest member of the BioWare family, and it was created to work on the revitalization of the Command & Conquer franchise. Generals 2 is the studio's first task, and hopefully it can create a sequel worthy of the Generals name. Not much is known about the game other than it will bring the C&C franchise back to its roots, but you can check out the teaser trailer below.
Command & Conquer: Generals 2 is slated for a launch in 2013.
