Elite Computer Systems (ECS) added two motherboards to its Black Series today with the launch of the X79R-AX Black Extreme and X79R-AX Black Deluxe boards. Based on the Intel X79 chipset, the boards support the Socket LGA2011 Sandy Bridge-E processors that were announced today as well. The ECS Black X79 Series boards are equipped with four PCIe Gen 3 x16 slots for 4-way GPUs supporting either NVIDIA SLI or AMD CrossFireX. With the platform change comes a new memory controller and the ECS Black X79 Series boards support quad-channel memory up to 64GB with speeds up to 2500MHz. Of course you get high quality all solid capacitors, DriverMosfet, up to 14-phase power to ensure the power stability and QoolTech IV which indicates heat sink temperatures by changing color to alert you to any out of norm temperature conditions. Also included are wireless LAN, Bluetooth, 2 x eSATA 6Gb/s, up to 12 SATA (8 x 6Gb/s + 4 x 3Gb/s) ports and Dual Gigabit LAN. ECS did not disclose pricing information.
