New world records for memory overclocking have been set by a pair of Swiss overclockers from the Ocaholic.ch community. The team of Roger Tanner aka "splmann" and Marc Voser aka "Besi" set the records using Kingston HyperX memory at the IM.TOP trade show held by Ingram Micro on October 20. The two records that were set were for CL6 and CL8 memory timings. The team was able to achieve clocks of 3095MHz at CL6 and 3175MHz at CL8 timings. A custom liquid nitrogen cooling system was used, keeping the memory extremely cold with the -196°C liquid. For anyone looking to get their hands on the memory used, it has the part number KHX2544C9D3T1FK2/2GX. For those interested in looking at some of the pictures from the event, there are plenty available.
