Today seems to be the day of first-person shooters, and here we have another piece of information concerning an upcoming FPS game. This is not the kind of news you would like to hear for a big release, especially if you are the developer or publisher of the game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is not set to release until November 8th, but that apparently did not stop some K-Mart employees. A report has come out that certain K-Mart stores in Florida started selling Modern Warfare 3 for the Xbox 360 earlier this week, with the boxes labeled for immediate sale. Now, maybe the boxes actually did say that or the employees just read it wrong, but whenever I've worked in an electronics or game store, boxes are clearly labeled in bright tape to not sell before the game's street date. Microsoft and Activision are both aware that Modern Warfare 3 has sold early, but Activision will not take any action against those who play online early. The publisher just hopes everyone waits until Tuesday, when the game officially releases.
