Fans of the Metal Gear Solid franchise should be pretty enthused that some of the past games in the series are getting the high-definition treatment. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection includes Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, so you will be getting two PS2 games and one PSP game displayed in HD. The collection will hit on November 8th for the PS3 and 360, probably one reason the first Metal Gear Solid is not being included, but it seems Konami has a little something extra in store. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Limited Edition will also launch on November 8th, and inside it you will find a 248 page art book and special packaging illustrated by the series' lead artist Yoji Shinkawa. The Limited Edition has had an $80 price revealed, which seems to be the typical premium associated with a special edition. What's more, is that the HD Collection version of Peace Walker implements a new technology that lets you transfer saves between the PSP and PS3 versions of this game. MGS creator Hideo Kojima hopes to expand that ability, dubbed transfarring, to the rest of the HD Collection and to create future games on the PS Vita and PS3 using it.
