Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Horrid Boss Battles Were Outsourced

If you were asked about the most memorable aspect of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, what would it be? There are a lot of great things to like about DX: HR, from the rewarding stealth mechanics, the freedom of exploration, and engaging character conversation, among others. But what if you were asked what about DX: HR do you loathe the most? Chances are, those out-of-place boss battles would be at the top of your list. Critics and players alike were repulsed at the unnecessary inclusion of these bosses, as they tarnished what was otherwise a stellar sequel to Deus Ex

If you're looking for the culprits behind those bosses, don't look at Eidos Montreal, though. They had nothing to do with it, as they hired another studio, Grip Entertainment, to design all the forced boss encounters. From the included video, Grip's Paul Kruszewski talks at length about his team's involvement with DX: HR, and on how they integrated the bosses into the gameworld. 

Fortunately for us, the rest of Deus Ex: Human Revolution remains amazing. So just kill those end bosses as fast as you can, and play the rest of DX: HR the way it was meant to be played: your way.
