AMD Says Zambezi Parts to Ship in Quarter Four

I know what you're thinking. The AMD Bulldozer parts have already shipped, but those are the Interlagos server CPUs. The Interlagos is a server-only CPU, meaning there will be no desktop version of it. For that, we are waiting on the Zambezi products to launch, but now it seems those have slipped to quarter four of this year. Do not be alarmed, since the fourth quarter starts pretty soon and we should begin to see products arriving in October. These will be the Bulldozer CPUs that many of you have been waiting for, myself included, so it should not be much longer before we can purchase one. The Zambezi products will carry the FX branding, and in fact the AMD FX website has been live for the better part of three months. That is a little unheard of considering the products aren't even out yet, but AMD will soon correct that. So, when the AMD Bulldozer desktop CPUs launch, how many of you will pick one up?

Disapointing and annoying to hear its slipped again. I've had my Sabertooth 990fx Mobo and my Rasa 360 Watercooling kit sitting in boxes for 3 months waiting on bulldozer so I could do it all at once. If they delay again or if it doesn't perform I may just flick back to Intel. At least their products are real.

Yeah, no kidding. I have my 890FX BIOS flashed, ready to support a Zambezi chip. If the rumors I hear are true, they're not going to be able to match even Intel's SandyBridge. If that's the case, I may be selling my AMD motherboard/cpu and stick with Intel until AMD gets back to speed.

I've heard that it's 25% faster than sandybridge so rumors are rumors

True, which is why I've been keeping my AMD system. Still, delayed releases means they're still working out some kinks, or they just have some overpaid managers that can't do their job.

Lucky I have 6 weeks of the Rugby world cup to keep me occupied while I wait.

I will be buying one the microsecond they're released, if I can get to them before they're sold out :)

They probably won't sell out. Most of the people I know got tired of waiting and went with the 2600K.

I need to get a system up and going very soon for SWTOR. I pre-purchased the game to get a headstart... why mess that up waiting for something that may or may not be there in time. Probably will just pull the trigger now on an i5. It will be plenty adequate for gaming for quite a while down the road. Just wont have bragging rights if AMD turns out to be HOT. Who cares really?
