Typically PC gamers have to deal with a game created for the consoles and then ported over to the PC. There are usually lower quality textures, a checkpoint system for saves, and even less graphic options to enable. However, with The Witcher 2, Xbox 360 gamers will be getting a PC port, as the game was originally released only for the PC. The game was supposed to be coming out later this year, but there have been some problems so The Witcher 2 for the Xbox 360 is getting delayed until next year. The main reason for the delay is so the team can have more time to polish up the game and ensure that the 360 gamers can have an easy time controlling Geralt. The other reason is due to the current legal battle over the game's distribution rights. Namco Bandai is suing CD Projekt RED, the developer of The Witcher 2, over removing the game's DRM for the European PC version. THQ is publishing the 360 version, which surprised Namco since it believed it held the rights for all versions of it. This suit only involves the European version of the game, but still, it seems to be impacting the release of the 360 version in all territories.
