In Batman: Arkham Asylum, one of the bosses you have to fight fairly early on was Bane. He's been a thorn in Batman's side ever since he was introduced in the comics, and also in the comics, was the first villain to deduce who Batman really was and then break him, rendering him unable to continue on as Batman. Bane is typically portrayed as a stupid, juiced up brawler, but in the comics, Bane is the equal to Batman in everything, including intelligence, but uses the Venom to ensure that no one will ever beat him in a fight. In Batman: Arkham Asylum, last year's game by Rocksteady, we got to experience a fight against Bane after he was injected with Venom and you had to use your wits to defeat him. Batman: Arkham City will see Bane return, but this time he will be an AI-controlled ally in a series of side missions that sees the unlikely duo track down a missing shipment of chemical contraband. Just like in the Arkham Asylum fight, Bane will use his ramming attack to defend himself, and if you're caught in it, you can be damaged as well. Bane won't be controllable like Catwoman will be in Arkham City, but at least he will be making another appearance and perhaps provide a little insight into how he survived the fight in Arkham Asylum.
Batman: Arkham City will launch on October 18th for the PC, PS3, and 360.
