OCZ today unveiled its latest offering for mainstream consumers with the launch of its ZS series power supplies. The new series is targeted for use in home desktops and gaming PCs, and aims to provide good value for consumers. The ZS series PSUs feature a single 12V rail, active Power Factor Correction (PFC), and a constant output at 40°C, along with NVIDIA SLI and ATI CrossFireX support for multi-GPU configurations. All models include an 135mm temperature-controlled cooling fan and meet the 80PLUS Bronze standard requiring 85% efficiency at 100% load. The ZS series is non-modular and each model has a variety of connectors to support any system. Overvoltage, overcurrent and short-circuit protection comes as standard on all models.

OCZ's Senior Vice President of Power Management, Steve Lee, said that "the new ZS line of power supplies provides customers with the ideal blend of quality, performance, and efficiency for power hungry desktops. The ZS power supplies are available in a range of wattages and are engineered for consumers seeking both solid performance and reliability at a very cost-effective price point."

The OCZ ZS series of power supplies will consist of 550W, 650W and 750W variants, all including a three-year OCZ PowerSwap warranty. OCZ did not disclose details regarding the pricing or availability of the ZS series PSUs.
