After less than a year into the service, Microsoft has pulled the plug on its Games for Windows Marketplace. However, for those of you who may have preferred it to Steam, fear not, it’s not really going away, it’s just moving to a more logical location. Microsoft announced it will be incorporating the service into… Xbox.com. All joking aside, this move has many scratching their heads, as buying PC games from an Xbox website seems… counter-intuitive at best. However, multiple Microsoft execs have said that the move is the next logical step towards integrating its Live service across all Microsoft powered devices. It will be interesting to see how GFWM is integrated into Xbox.com, as details at the moment are scarce. However, the possibility of PC gamers being able to play over Live with their Xbox friends is intriguing.
