Latest Crysis 2 patch finally gives PC gamers more graphics options.

For anyone who's played the original Crysis and Crysis Warhead, the graphics options were the most often accessed feature in the settings. These were mysteriously removed from Crysis 2. Crytek remedies this omission by way of Patch 1.8.

Patch 1.8 features added Advanced Graphics Options, a Prematch mode, and Increased default score limits, among others. A number of bug fixes and balance changes round out what is definitely an essential patch for your Crysis 2 gaming fix.

The latest patch, which is now live, can be downloaded from the Official Crysis Community page, or here.

THIS is exactly what should have been done in the first game - having the Ultra settings removed until a later patch. Would have resulted in a lot better PR, as so many people complained they couldn't max out the game, despite Crytek continually saying that it was simply future-proofing the game and no current hardware could run it with reasonable frame rates.

But that's not what this is...Correct me if I'm wrong but this just gives the user options to disable certain graphics options. Not unlocking an "ultra" setting. So instead of having to choose between 3 presets, now you get to customize it.

Oh, you may be right. I thought maybe the patch would unlock additional options, but I guess it's just to give people the ability to be "in between" the presets.
