HP today released its latest Sandy Bridge offering in the form of the Pavilion g6s notebook. The new 15.6" notebook is based on Intel's Sandy Bridge platform, packing in a second-generation Intel Core CPU (ranging up to a Core i7-2620M) supported by up to 8GB of memory and either Intel HD 3000 or Radeon HD 6470M graphics. Storage is provided by a conventional hard drive, up to 750GB. Other features include a DVD writer (8x), Altec Lansing audio and all the basics: LAN, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth (optional) and a 6-cell battery promising around 4 hours of battery life. On the outside the g6s includes a 15.6" display (1366x768), a sleek keyboard and a borderless touchpad. The HP Pavilion g6s is available in five colours, priced from US$549.99.
