Microsoft Offers Free Xbox 360 to Students Purchasing a Windows 7 PC
Microsoft has a new back-to-school promotion getting ready to start and it is a pretty enticing one. Starting May 22nd, if a student buys a Windows 7 PC then they can get a free Xbox 360. The PC has to cost at least $699 and be bought either directly from Microsoft or one of its partners, like HP or Dell, and you must use your .edu email address. Once all of that is fulfilled, you will be getting a new Xbox 360 4GB console absolutely free. If you decide to head to Best Buy or a Microsoft Store, then you will need your student ID card to get the free console. Currently this offer is only good for students in the US, but Canada and France will also be getting similar deals. Microsoft claims that by offering a free Xbox 360 with a Windows 7 PC purchase it is giving students everything they need for a successful school year. Whether or not that student spends more time gaming or doing homework is clearly out of Microsoft's hands, but hey, a free game system can't really be beat. You could always be sure to get a PC capable of playing any game out there instead, although free is free.
