Ubisoft Delays Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Cancels Other Projects
Many people have been waiting for the newest release in Ubisoft's Ghost Recon franchise but it seems that wait may go on for a while longer. Ubisoft announced today that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is being delayed until the first quarter of next year. The move is being made so that Future Soldier will not compete with other big titles launching around the holidays, like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Ubisoft's own Assassin's Creed: Revelations, and the rumored Halo remake. This could be seen as a big blow to those waiting on the new Ghost Recon title, but hopefully the game will receive more polish with the delay. Also announced by Ubisoft was the cancelation of several projects due to "major changes in the industry," though none of those projects were mentioned by name. Ubisoft did say, however, that it will broaden its casual lineup, such as Just Dance, to include more titles for Microsoft Kinect and PlayStation Move. The company also mentioned an ambitious PC project focused on one of its core gamer franchises, but your guess is as good as mine what that could be.
