YouTube is undeniably one of the most popular options to view videos on the Internet, and you can even watch movies on the site. Now, the renting business is going to grow as YouTube has just announced 3,000 new movies are available to rent in the US. That effectively doubles the previous amount available, and studios like NBC Universal, Sony Pictures, and Warner Bros. form the new partners. The price will be $2.99 for older titles and $3.99 for new releases, and you can watch them either on your PC or Google TV. Many of the movie pages feature YouTube Movie Extras which are behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, parodies, and more that you can view along with your rental. You will have 30 days to begin watching the movie once you rent it, but once you start you will be limited to a 24 hour window to finish it. Many of the movies are in SD which seems to be left to the partners, but since YouTube can support resolutions up to 4K, perhaps it won't be long before we get more HD movies available to rent. Feel free to see which movies are available at this link, with more options being added throughout the day.
