NVIDIA Plans Acquisition of Icera
A United Kingdom company named Icera, which many consumers have not heard of, makes processors that work with both 3G and 4G data, and also have been focusing on LTE as of late. These processors work in devices such as USB modems along with wireless cell phones and other gadgets. With NVIDIA being part of the mobile market and somewhat shying away from the desktop realm, the company now has plans to acquire Icera and jump into the mobile revolution more than it already has. The chips are said to be smaller and even more efficient than current offerings from both Qualcomm and ST-Ericsson, though as usual, time will only tell what NVIDIA does with the new products that it will have under its reign.
