AMD has pushed out the latest addition to it Phenom II family of processors with the release of the Phenom II X4 980BE. The X4 980 gets a 100MHz bump in speed over its predecessor coming in at 3.7GHz, which also means it becomes the top quad-core processor in AMD's lineup. Even though it is a tad bit faster than its predecessor, the X4 980BE retains the $195MSRP of the X4 975BE. You'll notice the BE nomenclature, meaning this processor is an unlocked Black Edition, so come join OCC as we look at what this new processor can do in terms of performance and overclocking.
