Skype Implements Ads

In just the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany, Skype has recently announced that it will be serving up ads to one target group and one group only, Windows users. The ads will only be featured on the home screen of the program for now, and for some reason, Mac systems or any other countries for that matter are not being targeted by Skype with the ad system, but the company is saying that the user experience is still something that is of utmost importance. For most programs, ads do seem to ruin the experience, so it will be different to see how Skype decides to implement the new changes over the course of this year. Another interesting thing that the video calling company has stated is that the new ads in the program will also anonymously track users, though if they want to, they can opt out of the tracking initiative.
