Angry Birds Coming to Facebook
Angry Birds has been a smash success in the mobile world for some time, and now creator Rovio is bringing the popular game to Facebook. Rovio is keeping silent on the details on what will differentiate the browser game from the mobile one, but promises it to have completely new aspects with a more prominent role of the pigs. There is even some mention of the success of Angry Birds, with the game costing about €100,000 (~$140,000) to make. Rovio reports that there have been 20 million paid iPhone and iPad downloads, another 20 million free ad-supported Android downloads, and when you factor in the licensing deals, the total revenue so far is about £50 million ($80 million). Rovio also reports that roughly three trillion pigs have been popped in-game, which is about 3,000 times more than the number of actual pigs in the world. All in all, Angry Birds has been quite the success for Rovio.
