The Battlefield franchise is one of the most popular FPS series out there with countless iterations released over the years. One of the latest games, Battlefield 1943, was a remix of popular maps from Battlefield 1942 done with a modern game engine. That game was announced for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and was even released on the two consoles last year. DICE, makers of the Battlefield franchise, kept saying that the PC version was coming and we wouldn't have that long of a wait. Well, now that wait won't end as DICE announced that Battlefield 1943 for the PC has been canceled. Not only that, but Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught cooperative pack for the PC has been canceled, so PC gamers are dealt a blow. The reason for the cancellations are so DICE can better focus its effort on Battlefield 3, which at this point still has no solid release date. Hopefully with the cancellation of the other PC titles DICE can get it in our hands sometime this year, albeit at our own expense.
