Dragon Age II is getting closer to release and today BioWare has discussed its DRM strategy for the much anticipated RPG. The Steam version of DA2 will have the usual Steam DRM, but the non-Steam version gets a little interesting. You don't need the disc in your PC to play and there is no limit to how many machines you can install it on, both of which are good features. Each install requires you to log into your EA account and you are only allowed to play the game on five machines inside of 24 hours. What's more is that the game requires online verification every few days, but the details of that are still being worked out. BioWare also pointed out that DA2 does not use SecuROM but has something called Release Control which prevents you from playing the game until it is released, a measure to stop it from being pirated it seems. Once that release date hits, then Release Control will no longer function.

Dragon Age II will release on March 8th for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
